Bristol Refugee Festival and Borderlands Anthology Launch

We’re delighted to announce that we are launching our anthology of members’ work at the Arnolfini on June 19th, 6-8pm.

This event is also the official launch of Bristol Refugee Festival. There will be readings from the anthology, information about this year’s festival as well as musicians from the refugee community, artwork from our Rise Exhibition, and speakers from Bristol Refugee Rights’ VOICE Project.

This is a free event, but please register your attendance at https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/bristol-refugee-festival-launch-2017-tickets-34880771326 if you’d like to come.

Borderlands Anthology

Over the past year or so, volunteers and staff at Borderlands have been collecting creative writing and artwork produced at Borderlands’ weekly drop-in. Borderlands members produced this work in creative writing workshops, on the art table, and in preparation for the Rise Exhibition in February.

After deciding to collate the work into an anthology, we ran a successful crowdfunding campaign in order to produce the book, and now it has finally gone to print! To get your copy, you can buy them at the Launch event itself, from the Arnolfini bookshop, or at the Celebrating Sanctuary event on the 9th July.

We’d like to thank everyone who contributed, especially to those who gave generously, and to our members who produced such interesting work!
